My Withdrawal Symptoms of Citalopram

One of the things I rarely discuss is my relationship with the anti-depressant Citalopram. I have (now had) been on the drug since the beginning of 2015 and very recently weaned myself off this highly addictive drug. Although it has helped me tremendously deal with the depression I suffered throughout my teenage years and early adulthood, for over a year now I have had a “feeling” that I no longer needed the drug. The reason behind this “feeling” of no longer needing the drug has been through my own study of self-help and personal development. When I started taking the drug in 2015 I literally had no ways of coping with tough situations in my life, however through my own study I have found ways of dealing with hardships – in a way, I can create my own serotonin by this mindset shift I have adopted. The main way I have dealt with my depression was through NLP (Neuro-Linguistic Programming) which is a form of therapy that helped me take control over my mind and emotions, which I didn’t have when I decided to be put on the drug. Some may argue that the reason I feel better is that I was on anti-depressants, however now after being through a process of weaning myself off the drug I noticed very little difference in myself, even when I got down to as little as 5mg.
