FIRST IMPRESSIONS OF MALAYSIA (Didn't Expect This!) 🇲🇾

We made it to Malaysia! Our very first day in Kuala Lumpur takes us to the legendary Batu Caves where we catch the back end of a Hindu festival. After walking up the colourful steps, careful to avoid cheeky monkeys, we explore the caves before wandering around the festival market trying all kinds of food and meeting locals. Then we get a taxi to a local restaurant to try Malaysian food and our 70 year old driver Joyce turns out to be an absolute legend. We arrive at the restaurant slightly late and try local food including char siu pork, kampong chicken, rice, chicken kidney and more at the lovely Luck Luck Hainan restaurant run by the wonderful Abbey. Fit to burst at this point, we get a taxi to the Taman Tugu jungle walk and another old and slightly mad taxi driver turns it into a journey we will never forget. Once we arrive at the jungle in the middle of KL we go on a 5km trail walk where we come across grey macaques, asian land monitor lizards and a wide variety of insects and plants.
