And we don’t even have to. We have to deal with every situation that we are facing. However, as things become more difficult, we tend to ask ourselves more questions. Why are all odds turning against us? What can we do to flip the situation and get away from our present? Here are some tools that can help you in reframing your attitude when you can’t change your situation. 1. Change your thinking. Start fueling your mind with positive thoughts. When we are clouded with negativity, all the things around us will be affected. It can affect our relationships, careers, and everything else that matter to us. With a positive mind, you start inspiring positivity in your environment. And instead of looking at how bad your current situation is, you will start thinking about how you can still change the course of your situation and say that positive things lie ahead. 2. Start examining the story that you are telling to yourself. Ask yourself about the story that your mind is telling you. Is it serving your highest good? Sometimes, it’s really just about how we create our own life stories. If your life story is based on your past, then you might want to recreate a better one that will make you move forward to a better future. Spend some time to think about it. Meditate. And tell yourself of the best life story you could imagine. 3. Laugh when it hurts. We all have different ways of dealing with hurt. But sometimes, it only takes a good laugh to forget all the pain. Put yourself in a state of spontaneous laughter, if that’s what it takes to give yourself a break and reframe your thinking. 4. Change your mood. If you can’t change the situation, change your mood. Remember how a smile can change a gloomy environment into a bright one. And you know what studies say, when you force yourself to smile, happy thoughts start rushing into our minds. A negative situation doesn’t always call for a negative reaction. So instead, why don’t you do something to lighten up the situation? Listen to music. Dance. Do something spontaneous. Change your mood. You may not be able to change the situation. But at least you have a better mood to think about how you can deal with the problem constructively. 5. Do things that make you feel good about yourself. Your reality is a reflection of your mindset. If you have a messy environment, maybe you need to de-clutter. Start pulling up the pieces by cleaning what’s around you. And when you start seeing things in order, you will feel lighter and accomplished. If you want to travel because you know you will be happy at the very least, do it! Break free and give yourself a favour. You may not change the situation but you’re doing something for yourself, one step at a time.
