Yes, systemic racism is still alive and well. But it does not limit opportunity for blacks. We might not be able to get into those prominently white schools, businesses and/or spaces but we have opportunity to get obtain higher learning (local colleges or HBCU's), we are able to start business that can eventually give opportunities to other black people, we can buy homes and not be denied for mortgages based on race (if you don't complete the questionnaire on the mortgage application, they have no idea what your race is). This ole' negro slave mentality is the number one thing that holds our community back, not white people. It starts in our home, then our community, then our schools. You keep speaking that we are "lacking because of systemic racism", you're giving an excuse and not holding the laziness accountable. I will continue to say this, "THE BIGGEST DETERMINET TO THE BLACK MAN IS THE BLACK MAN". This in no way erases the other obstacles that a person of color faces in America. But they are obstacles, not hindrances. How do you overcome an obstacle? Stand there and blame it for being an obstacle? That's counteractive and lazy. What do you do, when you are faced with an obstacle? GO AROUND OR OVER IT! Systematic racism no longer has black people in a pigeon hold. Over the decades it has lost and continue to lose the power it has. We keep speaking life into it, instead of letting it diminish into oblivion. Let it be a footnote in our history books. It does not need to be our present. And for the record, unfortunately, I as a fat black woman can't be racist, because I yield no power in this county. What I am sir, is someone that will hold your feet to the fire and not make excuses for poor decision making and behaviors, that I have witnessed in my community. #accountable #racialbias #blackman #communication #debate #babyboomer #millenials #innercity
