This is another song I am working on with my teacher. Songs Without Words (Lieder ohne Worte) is a series of short piano works by Romantic composer Felix Mendelssohn written between 1829 and 1845. The title Song Without Words seems to have been Felix Mendelssohn's own invention. In 1828, his sister Fanny wrote in a letter, "My birthday was celebrated very nicely ... Felix has given me a 'song without words' for my album (he has lately written several beautiful ones)." Mendelssohn objected when his friend Marc-André Souchay sought to put words to the songs to make them literal: "What the music I love expresses to me, is not thought too indefinite to put into words, but on the contrary, too definite". I would also like to announce that I have created a Patreon page for anyone who is interested. I will be posting videos there several times a week. Many people have asked if there were some way to help support my journey and my education so I started this Patreon page to provide a way for those who want to, to learn more about me and to help me access the type of musical instruction I need to reach the level that I hope to achieve as I grow up. It costs $3 a month to join. On this Patreon page I will be posting several short videos every week including a few videos of myself playing piano when I was very small as well as videos of my current piano lessons, progress videos, practice and improvisation, as well as videos of other things that I like to do, such as poetry recitation, ballet classes, juggling tricks, things I see when I go out into nature, my hummingbird feeder, jiu-jitsu training, and other things that I think of. The reality is that I need an extensive amount of professional training and guidance if I am to reach my full potential. I did not have any professional instruction for the first decade of my piano playing and this has created a situation in which I have taught myself many ingrained habits that will not serve me in the long run, and for which I need extensive professional guidance to correct, along with learning the level of technique and musicality required of the type of professional pianist I hope to become. Working with the type of advanced experts in the field and attending the events, performances, and workshops that I would benefit from is quite expensive and this is a fun way for me to help earn funds toward the achievement of my goals. All funds earned will go directly toward my musical education and instruction. Any funds earned in excess of my current needs will be set aside in a special fund for my future schooling. I hope to see some of you there. Here is the link if you are interested: https://patreon.com/LeandersDreamingP...
