Will's talk will draw on the role of technology and surgery in achieving “Universal Health Coverage”, a World Health Organisation initiative to ensure that healthcare is accessible to those who need it, regardless of their financial situation, by the year 2030. Will Bolton is a British Clinical Research Fellow at the National Institute for Health Research and is also a University of Leeds medical graduate. He is on the steering committee for Healthcare Technology Cooperative Foundation (HTCF), creating initiatives to bring together healthcare professionals, scientists, patients and industry representatives to identify unmet clinical needs and develop new technology to solve these. Will has a keen interest in surgery and is furthering this with his PhD research into surgical technologies in low-resource settings.
