The book Exploring Society: India and Beyond (Part 2) mentioned judicial corruption, case backlog, and shortage of judges, which sparked strong reactions. The matter reached the Supreme Court of India, where a bench led by Surya Kant took suo motu cognisance. The court ordered a halt to further printing and circulation, stating the content could harm the judiciary’s integrity. Meanwhile, Dharmendra Pradhan said action will be taken against those responsible.
