Visiting abandoned Soviet swimming pool on KTM 450 SMR

Palangos Linas - one of the most beautiful and unique swimming pools that was build in Lithuania, but probably in the whole Baltic sea region. It received awards for architecture in Soviet times, and was a big attraction for tourists coming from other countries. It was rather expensive building, as it was made out of rarer and luxurious materials. You can see that many parts of the pool are missing, local people scavenged expensive tiles, metal parts and anything of value. I guess it is fine, as there are no future for this beautiful building - it is scheduled to be destroyed. It was closed in 2010, and since then it decays. Sadly commune cannot rebuild it as it belongs to private companies. I visit it every year, It feels very nostalgic, as I was swimming in it when I was a kid. Sadly no such buildings are made in current times. My mother told one story - she visited the outdoor pool when it was dark outside, -30c! She was swimming and looking at the starts in the dark sky. She said as soon as she lifted her arm out of the water, it started freezing, and you could see the ice forming on the skin.
