This is our visit to Getty Villa and Getty Center in Los Angeles in one day. We started at the Getty Villa, and it immediately felt like we have stepped out of LA and into some Moosrish Palace in Spain. The place is beautiful with courtyards, fountains and beautiful frescos and murals. We wandered through the galleries, checked out ancient sculptures and artifacts, then spent a lot of time just walking around outside. It was slow, peaceful, and kind of the perfect way to ease into the day. Later, we headed to the Getty Center, and the vibe completely changed. The tram ride up was fun and give some really nice views of the highway. Once we got there, the views were amazing, LA stretching out in every direction. The architecture was super clean and modern, and the art felt more bold and varied. The Garden was the highlight with beautiful flowers, trees and hedges. There was even a small waterfall. We bounced between galleries, stopped whenever something caught our attention, and kept going back outside to take in the city and the gardens. By the end of it, we felt like we have seen two sides of LA at once, relaxed and ancient in the morning, bright and expansive in the afternoon.
