Just because you dig a plant out of the ground doesn’t mean you need to plant it right away. I put the plants in pots and then into the shade and sometimes leave them for a few weeks while I figure out what I’m going to do with them. I actually also have a bare root plant I got in March that I put into a pot in that holding area that I haven’t put in the ground yet. I just haven’t found the time to do it because I’m going to need to re-work the area when I do it. Keep them in the shade and watered.💦 That plant I gave him had been sitting back there for about 10 days. This area is in full sun and my cousin Jack is a goofball.😂 I can’t remember if it rained after we transplanted it but if temps are hot and dry, water frequently. He watered at least one more time within the week after planting. Can you transplant when something is in bloom? Yes—I’ve done it many times. However, if it’s very hot and it gets very droopy, you may need to sacrifice the blooms and cut the top part of the plant off.
