From their origin about 150 million years ago to the present day, these reptiles have successfully adapted to life in many environments on all continents except Antarctica. Despite not having legs, snakes can effectively catch, kill and eat their prey. Some snakes are active hunters, some wait in ambush. In this video, we will visit several continents and watch snakes while eating and hunting their prey. Observing snake behavior in nature is quite rare. It took us about 10 years of traveling around the world to film the footage in this video. We filmed the hunting of the Eastern copperhead, the Dice snake, the Gaboon viper, the Southwestern speckled rattlesnake and the King cobra. Scenes where snakes eat their prey include the Grass snake, the East African egg-eater, the Scarlet kingsnake, the Amazon tree boa and the Common cat snake.
