"From now on, the instrument will do what the musicians want to achieve, not what the instrument allows them to do.” Károly Tóth Master instrument-maker, Co-founder of TOVA Innovations The Pannon Philharmonic is the first symphony orchestra where the strings have started using the TOVA Tailpiece System jointly developed by the world-famous Pécs-born cellist, István Várdai and the master instrument maker-maker, Károly Tóth. As Tibor Bogányi commented to Papageno in 2021: "Since 2018, I have acted as the chief conductor of the Finnish Pori Sinfonietta, a chamber music ensemble with thirty members, and with them, I regularly play the cello as well. I must definitely say that this new project has opened up new perspectives for me. I’ve never felt a cellist so much as these days. This can be partly accredited to the unique composition by Bánfalvi and partly to the Hungarian instrumental innovation developed by my colleague, the cellist István Várdai and the master instrument-maker Károly Tóth. After years of research, they have created their TOVA Tailpiece System, which was applied to my cello a few weeks ago. The essence of this new system is a much more open, much more liberated sound in the cello (viola or violin): it soars as it never did before, giving new perspectives to the instrument and its owner.″ #refren #pannonfilharmonikusok #kodalykozpont #MüpaBudapest #klasszikuszene #legjobbkozonseg #kodályközpont #classicalmusic #hungary #pecs #musicpecs #classicalmusicpecs #pannonphilharmonic #kodalycentre #pfz210
