here is a quick run down on cigarette lighters and their usefulness in real terms in the bush. Nothing new, we all are familiar with the old BIC lighters but s there something better? Once a flint is wet it can be very difficult to strike to ignite the gas, so a piezo electric ignition is better, once the wind hs got to both of these they are maybe not so good although it could be argued that one should build their fires as windproof as possible at the beginning. I don't class Zippos or similar white spirit lighters as useful in the bush, in fact one can start an unintentional fire by accidentally dropping one because they don't go out once lit unless blown out or rained upon. LOL Plus the fuel in reality isn't available everywhere around the globe. Also they just evaporate. I know there are other white spirit lighters with o ring seals etc etc. but they can never go the distance in number of lights per activation as even a Bic, IMHO. Trusty BICS and even better still good quality wind proof lighters. Cold weather, keep them warm in your pocket and not your pack. I used to own a Windmill windproof lighter for over 20 years but it eventually died on me. Excuse now to get another one LOL! #HugoBossWindproofLighters #BICLighters #BIC #Bic #CigaretteLighters #FireStarters #WindmillLighters #Survival #SurvivalcigaretteLighters #SurvivalLighters #gasLighters BCT
