This video shows how to design and build a compact modified sine wave inverter that has all the necessary safety features to ensure stable and long operation. Because the inverter is software controlled, many other functions and voltage inputs can be enabled. One unique thing about this inverter is that it contains a tap changer, which makes it possible to switch taps to suit different input and output voltages, such as an inverter with a selectable output voltage of 110 or 220V. WARNING: This design uses high DC and DC voltages, and it could be fatal if mishandled. DO NOT ATTEMPT this design if you lack the knowledge of how to work around high voltages safely! You are responsible for your own safety. This video is partially born out of my frustration with the lack of good tutorials on how to properly make an inverter, as most tutorials online are using 555 ICs, these designs barely work, and they are very dangerous to use. My goal is to make an inverter that is viable to be used as an actual long-term solution. However, I am not a professional electrical engineer, so I cannot guarantee absolute safety or stability.
