Overview - Million Dollar Point Espiritu Santo Vanuatu WWII US Navy Underwater Equipment Dump

This video takes a peek at snorkelling around the incredible WWII US Navy equipment dump at Million Dollar Point near Luganville on the tropical island of Espiritu Santo in Vanuatu. In January 1946 the US Navy Seabees built a temporary ramp and pontoon jetty from the shore a short distance out into the Segond Cannel. They then pushed, rolled, drove and dumped surplus vehicles, machines, artillery, munitions, equipment and supplies into a huge pile into the deep water. A few small ships were also blown up and scuttled here too. Hence the name 'Million Dollar Point'. Today, for a small fee to the local kastom owners of the site, you can access this rare WWII site directly and safely from the beach to snorkel or dive the site.
