A very cold, wet and windy day in Uffington, Oxfordshire with a visit to White Horse Hill. The hill is home to both the White Horse and the remains of Uffington Castle. the White Horse is a prehistoric hill figure formed from trenches filled with white chalk. Its dated from roughly the Iron Age or late Bronze Age (1000 BC - AD 100) making it possibly up to 3000 years old. Until the late 19th century the horse was scoured every 7 years alongside a local fair. Nearby to the horse is the Iron Age Uffington Castle, located on a higher hilltop. This fort comprises of a well preserved bank and ditch. On the day I visited I found what a bleak, cold location this would have been in winter, as I was caught in several showers and there was strong winds all day. The horse has a viewing platform across from it that allows a glimpse of what the horse looks like, however, it is almost definitely best viewed from the air. However, the weather stopped me from being able to get any kind of drone footage on the day. Camera: Canon 6D Mk II Music: Wandering - Jayjen
