Witness the natural beauty of Spain's lush countryside as we walk through ancient woodlands and quaint villages. From the quaint medieval architecture of Tineo to the breathtaking vistas of the Monte de Tineo, this is a journey not to be missed. Take in the tranquility of the rural landscapes, and feel the sense of accomplishment as we reach the charming village of Borres. This is an unforgettable adventure that blends the beauty of nature with the rich cultural heritage of Spain. Join us on this epic journey through the Camino Primitivo, and experience the magic of the St. James Way like never before. First of the three stages that define the character and essence of the Primitive Way, due to its ecological richness, fauna and flora, its harshness and its landscapes, and which have made it one of the most successful pilgrimage routes in recent years . If we decide to extend the day beyond Borres, we already have to choose between the Route of the Hospitals and the path through Pola de Allande, both magnificent. Monastery of Santa María La Real de Obona. About eight kilometers after Tineo, we come across the well signposted detour that allows us to approach the Obona monastery, 800 meters from the road. For more info see the page Al Loro. We leave Tineo in front of the town hall and, on the right hand side, we go up a street that takes us right in front of the church. A tile with a scallop indicates that we must take a street on the left. This, on a steep slope, continues on a paved track that later becomes dirt. We advance to the middle slope of a hillside gaining altitude little by little, enjoying magnificent views over Tineo. Further on, the slope of the ascent gains some strength until it ends at an asphalt track, which we follow a few meters to the left to continue along a track to the right. We begin a moderate descent, delighting ourselves with the beautiful landscape. The track leads to another cement track that we follow until we reach the AS-350 road, in Alto de Piedratecha. We continue to the right parallel to the road (it is on the right), until we take a wooded track to the left that descends to the Deina river bed. We arrive at the crossroads, well signposted, where we must decide whether to visit the important monastery of Obona (detour of 800 meters) or leave it for a better occasion. In this last case, we continue flattening through a magnificent forest of oak and chestnut trees until, going uphill, we come out at the small village of Villaluz, without services. On leaving Villaluz we reach the TI-3 local road, which we follow to the right as far as Campiello, first passing through Vega del Rey and Berrugoso. In Campiello there is a bar-restaurant, and the famous Casa Herminia bar-restaurant-shop, which also has an excellent pilgrims' hostel (somewhat expensive) and a rural house. We leave Campiello along the same TI-3 road, pass through El Fresno and El Espín, and leave the road to the left. After 300 metres, we take a nice path to the right that leads us to the town of Borres, which has no services but does have a municipal hostel. The detour to the hostel, well signposted, is 500 meters before the town. © Club Hiking in London. Ltd (CASC) in collaboration with Saturday Walkers Club. #hikinginlondon #stjamesway #caminodesantiago
