Simple Pleasures - Model Trains without Sound On Board

Model trains have improved and evolved as technology has advanced. One of the improvements is the addition of miniaturized sound systems on board. While I quite enjoy my sound-equipped locomotives, I have to say there is something almost therapeutic about running a train without sound now and then. In this video, I give a quick overview on models with and without sound, then we sit back and lend an eye and ear to a number of trains with no sound effects built in, just the train going down the tracks and the sound that makes. This video was mostly filmed on the Western North Carolina Railroad, layout of the Northern Virginia Model Railroaders. The Bunker Hill Train Club's layout also makes an appearance, as does a shot from the Short Line Model Railroad Club.
