Mucormycosis affects individuals with low immunity (immunocompromised patients) like elderly people, cancer patients, diabetic patients. The incidence of Black Fungus (Mucormycosis) is increasing in COVID patients because of the use of steroids, immunomodulatory drugs like tocilizumab, and humidified oxygen.
