💥 The hiss of the beast! 2x Lancia Delta S4 Group B at Goodwood FOS - Turbo + Supercharged Sound!

In this video, I've collected footage of two extraordinary Lancia Delta S4 Group B cars that I was fortunate to see and film in action at past editions of the Goodwood Festival of Speed (FOS). I always love the unique sound of these cars; the S4, one of a kind, features a KKK turbocharger and a Volumex supercharger (patented by Abarth). The latter allows the car to push hard from 1,500 rpm. In its final evolution from 1986, its power was impressive, reaching over 600 hp and a boost pressure of 2.5 bar. You see two examples. The one in Martini livery, with registration A6 37616, is the car with which Henri Toivonen and Sergio Cresto won the 54th Rallye Automobile de Monte-Carlo in January 1986. After the victory, this specific chassis was used as a T-car (reserve/test car) for the Lancia Martini team before being sold. The second Delta S4, chassis number 206, is a historic example of the Martini Racing factory team, which raced with Markku Alén and Ilkka Kivimäki before moving to the Jolly Club team in the Totip livery. With this car, Italian driver Dario Cerrato, navigated by Giuseppe Cerri, achieved several victories in the Italian Rally Championship and the European Rally Championship (ERC). Carrying the number 2 you see on the chassis, the team finished third overall at the 1986 Costa Smeralda Rally. Adoro sempre ascoltare il suono unico di queste auto, in quanto la S4, unica nel suo genere, è dotata di un turbocompressore KKK e di un compressore volumetrico Volumex (brevettato da Abarth). Quest'ultimo consente alla vettura di spingere con vigore già a 1.500 giri. Nella sua ultima evoluzione del 1986, la potenza era impressionante e poteva raggiungere oltre 600 hp ed una pressione di sovralimentazione di ben 2,5 bar. Gli esemplari che vedete sono due. Quello con livrea Martini, targato A6 37616, è la vettura con cui Henri Toivonen e Sergio Cresto vinsero il 54° Rallye Automobile de Monte-Carlo del Gennaio 1986. Dopo la vittoria, questo specifico telaio è stato utilizzato come auto T-car (vettura di riserva/test) per il team Lancia Martini, prima di essere venduto. La seconda Delta S4, numero di telaio 206, è un esemplare storico del team ufficiale Martini Racing, che ha corso con Markku Alén e Ilkka Kivimäki, per poi passare al team Jolly Club con la livrea Totip. Con questa vettura il pilota italiano Dario Cerrato, navigato da Giuseppe Cerri, ottenne diverse vittorie nel Campionato Italiano Rally e nel Campionato Europeo Rally (ERC). Con il numero 2 che vedete sulla fincata, l'equipaggio arrivò terzo assoluto al Rally di Costa Smeralda del 1986.
