Camping stove water boiling time starts when water temperature reaches 100F degrees. Because the tests involved separate test runs instead of boiling all stoves at the same time and ambient temperature changing throughout the day, a base starting temperature was needed. In all tests, propane was over half full. American stoves use regulators so, maximum pressure should be limited. Asian stoves however, are not regulated and meant to be used with lower pressure butane canisters. Because I used propane adapter, Snow Peak and Bounce when valve is opened all the way, they put out scary power. I tried to put out as much controllable flame as I can without causing danger. BTU rating indicated is for total power for the stove. So, for example: Kovea 2 burner stove, each burner puts out 10,250 BTU. Most of Coleman and US made camping stoves are 10,000 btu per burner or similar so, I didn’t bother testing other brands. But I did wanted to test Asian counter parts. Korea has one of the strictest safety standards when it comes to gas stoves. Most of Chinese made stoves don’t pass the test and cannot enter Korean market. Therefore, cheap budget stoves are not tested here. 00:09 Coleman Even Temp 28,000 Btu $220 01:02 GSI Pinnacle Pro 20,000 Btu $199 02:35 Kovea Slim 2 Burner 20,500 Btu $223 03:39 Snow Peak Flat Burner 12,000 Btu $130 High power stoves: 05:22 Snow Peak Gigapower LI 34,000 Btu $420 06:27 Bounce FX3 31,000 Btu $298 08:35 Camp Chef Mountaineer 40,000 Btu $470 09:43 Test Ranking
