The Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD) has introduced a QR code-based footwear tracking system to improve convenience for pilgrims visiting the revered Tirumala temple. Devotees have welcomed the initiative, saying it ensures safe, free, and efficient deposit and collection of footwear at designated stalls. The system has already handled over eight lakh transactions between September 2025 and mid-February, demonstrating its effectiveness even during peak rush hours. Earlier, footwear services involved charges, but the new system offers free and secure storage. Officials plan to expand the facility with additional counters and increased staff to manage growing footfall.
