[Click show more to see materials list] A bubble cloner allows you to easily propagate plants including ones that are typically difficult to root. The basic idea is you want to suspend a cutting above water that has an airstone in it. As the bubbles pop they splash the cuttings keeping them wet but but not submerged so the plants form fuzzy air roots instead of smooth water roots. The large smooth roots that form when rooting in water aren't ideal for transplanting directly into soil and some plants can exhibit signs of shock as they adjust. Roots grown in soil or air appear fuzzy and covered in fine hairs which drastically increase the surface area and efficiency. Since the roots that form in the bubble cloner are fuzzy there is no transplant shock when moving the plants to soil.
