Jakarta really surprised me! 😮 I walked across the city looking for a laundry and something to eat and discovered many interesting things. I even found a bistro-restaurant that served somewhat authentic German food! 🇬🇧🍽️ The traffic in Jakarta was a real challenge – so congested that I sometimes reached my limits. Unfortunately, the monument was closed that day, but I still saw a lot. Heavily armed security forces, police, and water cannons were visible all over the city, securing the area for an Islamic festival. An unexpected adventure: A wrong turn landed me literally under the bridge and I met many homeless people there. Interacting with them showed me a different side of the city. I ended up going to "Little India" – but it turned out it wasn't at all what the name suggested.
