December was a slower reading month for me, and I’m learning to be okay with that. In this December reading wrap-up, I talk about three books that stayed with me despite (or maybe because of) the slower pace. What connects them all is a shared focus on community, human connection, and what happens when warmth enters or is withheld from people’s lives. I also share a loose January TBR, including what I’ve already started reading and what I’m hoping to pick up next, plus a request for your nonfiction recommendations as I work toward my 2026 reading intentions. If you’ve ever had a quiet reading month, or found that fewer books sometimes leave a deeper impression, you’re very much not alone. ✨ I’d love to hear from you: • Do you tend to notice themes emerging in your reading? • How do you feel about slow reading months? • What’s on your January TBR? Thanks so much for reading along with me. 📚 Books discussed: • Burial Rites by Hannah Kent • Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries by Heather Fawcett • A Christmas Carol by Charles Dickens 🎥 Video Mentioned: Why I Rarely Reread Books - • Why I Rarely Reread Books — Even the Ones ... 🎙️ YouTuber Mentions: @litandlovelylila 🕰️ Timestamps: 0:00 Intro 1:01 Burial Rites 4:56 Emily Wilde’s Encyclopaedia of Faeries 7:24 A Christmas Carol 10:58 January TBR 12:10 Final thoughts #booktube #readingwrapup #decemberreads #tbr #januarytbr #slowreading
