LNER 'Raven A2' Steam Locomotive review ~ Train Simulator

Today’s topic is one of my favourites from the Caledonia Works range. I’ve known about the LNER Raven A2 locomotives for over a decade at this point, as I remember discovering them while reading a book about the UK’s 4-6-2 ‘Pacifics’ in my high school days. Incidentally, this video was filmed entirely on routes made by Golden Age Developments; I don't recall ever doing that sort of thing before. This was a class of only five locomotives built to the design of Sir Vincent Raven, with the first two built in late 1922, followed by the remaining three in 1924. They were used for hauling express trains between York and Newcastle, but didn’t last particularly long in service. All Raven A2s had been withdrawn by 1937, with none surviving into preservation. To give you an idea of how long my videos can take to be finished, I started writing the script for this one in December 2024.
