MINOLTA MC Series Glass Lens Test | MINOLTA MC W.ROKKOR-SI 28MM F2.5 Produced in 1967 to 1972 the Minolta MC lenses were the first ‘Meter Coupled’ (hence ‘MC’) lenses that Minolta had produced for their SLR Film Cameras. They are very identifiable by their milled metal housings and scalloped metal focus rings. The optics consisted of compounds of Thorium and Lanthanum to increase the refractive index and coatings that are comprised of Magnesium fluoride and other non-disclosed ‘other rare earth like elements’ that are applied via a double coated process called ‘Achromatic Coating’ that gave excellent colour rendition and light transmission compared to other competitors at the time.
