I made this video while working on the restoration and timing of my vintage industrial Singer 112W machine. It's a compound walking needle / double stitch machine. It was originally purchased from Len at BBsewingmachine (see his eBay store). I'm rebuilding this machine mainly so that I can sew a new Alcantara dashboard for my Ferrari 458 Italia. I also just like tinkering and restoring old machinery. Once this sewing machine is back together, I'm going to build a custom treadle table for it, so it will be manually operated and controlled via a treadle pedal. This video shows a brief overview of the bobbin case and shaft area (and how to remove it) as well as the under side of the Singer 112W with its massive twin gear setup. This specific 140 sub model of the 112W features ball bearings on the shaft(s) as well as a push button / cam operated rapid adjustment system for stitching length (the dial shows 5 stitches per inch clear up to something like 20 or 30 as I recall). I'm setting this machine up with a 1/4" spaced double needle head, which should duplicate the Ferrari french seams used on their cars. Feel free to subscribe! Once this machine is totally done, I'll have more videos of it in operation.
