Labour 'give up' against Nigel Farage as candidate is 'sent to the Midlands' | LBC

Labour has been criticised for allegedly abandoning the fight against Nigel Farage in Clacton, where their candidate, Jovan Owusu-Nepaul, has reportedly been reassigned to campaign in the West Midlands. Owusu-Nepaul, 27, is one of the few Black male candidates for Labour and was selected to contest the Clacton seat, which the Tories secured with a 24,702 majority at the last election. Interest in the constituency has increased following Farage's announcement that he would run there for Reform UK. It is now claimed that the Clacton campaign has been directed to halt leaflet printing and stop using campaign software. Keir Starmer has denied these claims, asserting that Labour is "fighting everywhere" and praising Owusu-Nepaul as an "excellent candidate."
