A botched PC launch didn't help the reputation of Arkane Studios, along with the immersive sim not (usually) being a huge seller. Having recently picked it up on sale, I was very happy with my purchase. In many ways, Dishonored 2 is better than 1, and yet still had some mistakes and flaws that carried over from the first. Unfortunately, Dishonored 2 did not sell well and while the series did get another release, it seems to be on hold for the future. Why did Dishonored 2 fail?
