It's been a little over a year since I shared a video explaining the modules in my experimental Eurorack case, and a couple of things have changed in that time. I've clarified the high level goal for the system and expanded my thinking on how to achieve that goal by specifying a collection of functional requirements. I walk through how each module in the system relates to these functional requirements, and then I look at exactly what has changed since my 2024 case update video. I'll be following up this video with one that goes through a patch tour of the system—presenting the capabilities of the case by explaining several different patches. I think the conceptual design discussion in this video and the demonstrative patch tour I'm planning for next week are useful in different ways for understanding the system, and I hope that folks enjoy each of the approaches. You can see last year's video here if you're curious to see more about how the system has developed over time: • Experimental Eurorack Case Update 2024 If you have any questions about my experience with the system or the individual modules in it, feel free to ask! == Video Chapters == 0:00 Introduction 0:56 High Level Design Goal 3:43 Functional Requirements 6:07 Mapping Functions to Modules 12:17 Layout Considerations 14:26 Changes Since 2024 15:45 Patch Tour Previews == No-Input Mixing Board Explanation Videos == If you're curious about how I approach the mixing board as a feedback instrument, check out my series of videos that walk through the techniques and ideas that I use: • Explanations: No-Input Mixing Board == Bandcamp == You can listen to my music on Bandcamp.
