Bicycling Fond Du Lac Wisconsin, the Mascoustin Valley State Trail (July 3, 2021)

We spent the Fourth of July weekend in Fond du Lac with our daughter and son-in-law. I brought my folding bike along to do some bike riding on the local trails. Julie opted out as the temperatures were predicted to be hot and humid. My first ride of the trip was the east section of the Mascoutin Valley State Trail that starts on the west side of Fond du Lac and goes to Rosendale making for a 20 mile round trip. I had heard that the trail was straight, flat, and maybe even a bit uninteresting. Luckily, the trail goes through some beautiful areas and the scenery varies throughout the ride. It is away from the roads so it makes for a very peaceful and remote feeling ride. Another benefit of the trail is its flatness, there is not much elevation gain or loss.
