Crossing the Dolomites. Section 10 of our yearly Grand Tour (GT) motorbike & camping trip. In 2025 we rode the GT2025: The Balkans and some Alps & Dolomites. We covered Germany, Austria, Slovenia, Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Albania, Montenegro and Italy. "We" are Graham Kirk (58) and Gerrit Schol (65), both in their prime of enjoyment of retirement. Once a year their wives enjoy 1 month of peace in and around the house while their husbands enjoy the saddle of their bikes, the sleeping bag in their tents and the red wine that comes in locally purchased bottles: Something they call freedom, lol. The most difficult (daily) task was finding a camping site in Croatia, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Serbia, Kosovo, Albania and Montenegro. But finding friendly people was very easy!!! Routes were created in advance (and adjusted while on the move) by Gerrit Schol. Excluding mob/demob we covered 6008 kms with 25,727 bike twists (4.3 / km - 1 per 233 m), Including 2,470 hairpins.
