During these times, I had many students that wanted to play along with songs. A couple of years ago, I ran into the Dave Hassell series. His drum book Graded course for drum kit 1 is ideal for playing different music styles. It helps with interpreting drum charts and understanding the musical concept behind them. Back then, most of my students were practising the first five exercises of that book, so I decided to help them by recording them myself. The songs are uploaded on YouTube, and I’m happy to share them in the educational section on my website. If these can be helpful for my students, I hope they are hopeful for other people as well. Besides being a studio and session musician, he is also a live performer, a bandleader and a teacher at various music schools in the UK.
