Vipava Valley Rally: A Spectacular Showcase of Rallying Skill

Rally competitions have a long tradition in the Vipava Valley. Local roads, winding through the steep terrain with numerous hairpin turns, provide a real challenge for rally drivers, and their competitive drives are a major attraction that always draws a large audience to the Vipava Valley. The Vipava Valley Rally, which takes place in the vicinity of Ajdovščina and Vipava, includes some of the most attractive sections of roads, such as the famous Žabelj rides. Visitors are especially interested in the night-time super special stage in the center of Ajdovščina, while thousands of spectators are attracted to the spectacular speed tests on the hills of Vipava. Along the route, especially around the hairpin turns and the most demanding sections of the stages, spectators find their spot in the natural amphitheater of vine-covered hills. Attending the rally is a full-day or even two-day experience of sports and socializing with passionate fans. On the list of entries for this year's event, there are 89 crews, and starting number 1 will be given to the current national champions Rok Turk and Blanka Kacin, who will continue their performances this year with the Hyundai i20 Rally2. Turk and Kacinova come to the Vipava valley with a good track record - a joint 17th place and 10th place in the RC2 class at the Croatian Rally for WRC.
