A free mod, anyone can do it, no soldering, all parts remain original. Credit goes to Scott Grove (groovydjs) who came up with that idea in one of his videos. NOTE: I replaced the pickups October 2013. Click the link in the video for review and sound samples of the new pickups. Subtitles/ footnotes don´t seem to work on some devices. So here´s the info: The "before the mod" section starts at 3:27 and the "after the mod" section at 4:33. The order of the sound files is always: bridge pup, middle position, neck pup. First part of this vid is filmed with a digital camera, second half is recorded from a Fender Mustang III amp via usb directly into Garageband. The "before" part of the comparison was recorded two years ago so I can´t remember the exact volume or usb level settings, but the preset is the same as in the "after" section. It´s the Mustang´s Basic `65 Deluxe preset without any change to the tone or gain settings. Strings are D´Addario .11s on both takes. Intro and outro are also played with the modded G5120.
