The Spiral Jetty is a unique land art installation in the remote Utah desert on the shore of the Great Salt Lake. Conceived by artist Robert Smithson, the Jetty was constructed in 1970. Changing water levels of the Great Salt Lake have wreaked havoc on the artwork, at times inundating it under fifteen feet of water and other times stranding it a great distance from the water's edge. I drove out in spring 2025 to see how it looks.
