Scenes are borrowed from “Margaret” (TV Movie 2009). Lindsay Duncan starred in a fictionalised account of Margaret Thatcher's final days in Downing Street. Ian McDiarmid: “Denis is an interesting character because he was the man at home whose job it was to help her emotionally and not put her foot in it. It was clearly a very successful marriage and Margaret always said that she could never have done it without him. I thought he would be an extremely interesting character to play and I also greatly admire the work of Lindsay Duncan who plays the woman herself.” There are a few more brief scenes with Mr. McDiarmid in the film, but I didn't include them all.
