Another video review from me in my "chilled out" way .. This time we have the Artisan from Dixon in Neo Mint Lacquer finish. This Kit was the actual Kit used by Zack Graybeal @ZackGrooves on his visit to the UK with his band @EverythingYesBand in May 2024. Clips in this video of Zack were filmed by me at the Jazz Cafe London. Kit Sizes Kick 20x16 Floor Tom 16x16 Mid Tom 12x9 High Tom 10x8 These Maple Drums with thin shells produce a very warm sound. The Kit comes shipped with Evans Head but this kit has Remo Coated Ambassadors on top, for Zack's Configuration. One thing I have noticed with the Artisan, is the Floor Tom Legs and Tom mounts are 12.7mm thick so, different from the Cornerstone which are 10.5mm. Also the Bass Spurs and Bass Claws on the Artisan are quite a bit chunkier. The obvious difference is the Tube Lugs on the Artisan, which are very nice. The Artisan is the at the TOP of the Dixon Drums Range and can come in many configurations and finishes. I believe you can even request custom configurations. At the time of writing this, I just received my Cornerstone Kit in the same finish but slightly different sizes. I will be reviewing this shortly.... I am not paid to review these, I am just interested and impressed with the Dixon brand at the moment with the products they offer and the value for money they offer.
