On Borrowed Time? CSX, Ex-Pan Am 5958 on the Hillsboro Branch - 11/20/2025

With CSX rumored to be spinning off several former Pan Am branch lines to another operator I set out to capture scenes on the Hillsboro Branch in New Hampshire. One day per week a local runs north from Nashua to Wilton, NH serving the remaining customers along the way. With these views on borrowed time I had hoped to catch the train at several locations along the route but luck wasn't on my side as the train tied down just 5 miles out of Nashua Yard. I'm not sure of the reason but I figure it had to do with the former Pan Am power, one of the last running in PAR blue, suffering some sort of mechanical issue. I bet this unit is also on borrowed time as CSX power has slowly been replacing former PAR motors. With my trip cut short I only managed two runbys. Thankfully I've very happy with one of them so the trip wasn't a total bust. I'm hopeful for another opportunity to capture CSX/PAR on this line before the next chapter but time will tell when, or if, anything changes.
