Do we really want our socials to outlive us and keep talking when we can’t? I joined Ahron Young on Ticker to unpack two very 2026 problems: Meta’s “post-after-you-die” patent, and the very human urge to use AI to dodge boring corporate training. Three moments worth stealing for your next team discussion: 1. Digital “legacy” is becoming interactive. We're talking AI-powered Facebook and Instagram profiles that could keep posting as you, based on your history, tone, and behaviour. That’s a massive consent problem, especially when you’re not here to correct AI hallucinations. Trust online is about to get worse. Deepfakes already mess with “what’s real”. Next comes “are you alive?” If we can’t confidently know either, credibility becomes collateral damage. 2. AI misuse is not always malicious. Some of the biggest errors are due to over-reliance and shortcuts. A KPMG Australia incident (partner was fined, plus employees) is a neat case study in “policy exists” vs “people actually understand it”. Tools like NotebookLM make it ridiculously easy to skip reading and still sound like you did. If your AI training is just click-next-until-freedom, people will treat it like a speed bump, then act surprised when it goes wrong. Live scenarios, real department examples, and clear “do / don’t” boundaries are where behaviour changes.
