Big Mistake guys, try to fuel up before this site at Elrdunda, or if you can go to Ayres Rock Resort. Believe it or not it was cheaper there. It is situated at the intersection of the Stuart and Lasseter Highways. But it was offering old fashioned country hospitality with a large camping site which had clean comfortable facilities. The campsites are price not to bad. They have 54 powered and 20 unpowered sites available for caravans, campers and motorhomes and large rigs plus there are tent sites available and all the sites are drive-through. If you are just doing a road trip and you not doing the caravanning, they have cabins too. Facilities include a restaurant which make a real good meal. There are facilities for your kids to do, there is a great playground for children and a spacious swimming pool. The bonus is, they give you free WiFi. The laundry is right near the toilets and when I was there the washing machines were free and the dryers were $2 a load.. There is a few clothes lines near the laundry, so it’s not a big walk. Plus they also have a wild life sanctuary with a few animals. And if you feel like a game of tennis, there is a small tennis court there as well. The viewing platform is a must on sunset, the view of the setting sun is magnificent and makes for a great picture of the desert landscape. Please remember all water out this way is Filtered Bore water and is high in calcium. If you want to camp here and just do the day trip into Uluru it is Located just 253 km from this site. It was said that they claimed to be the ‘The Centre of The Centre’ – also referred to as the Centre of Australia. Which is not true. The Centre is not too far away tho.
