#OpenWrt #x86 #Marvell #AQC113C #10gb #PCIe Update 1 May 2025: Creating a VLan device off the Wi-Fi no longer works by itself. We don't do that in this video but when you get to part 2, you will us do this. The problem is the interface, as YOU NOW need to have a bridge device assigned to an interface in order for the Wi-Fi you assign to it to properly ATTACH to that interface. Any other way I could not get working.must create a bridge device Note: Sometimes an x86 device must be powered off and then back on to get components up, reboots don't properly cycle the components all the time. Also if your making an x86 device that inherently has more than 1 port working at start, you can skip the extra stuff regarding sharing the internet from another computer, if you have a device with only 1 port, you can just connect it directly and log in when you install OpenWrt. 0:00 Going through what we are doing, will be a lot 8:15 flashing the snapshots I realized I should of mentioned that I had used Rufus initially to create the USB drive with the x86 OpenWrt Firmware (OS) on it and was running that, hence how I was able to just upload the snapshot firmware to get started for the x86 device. I promise Rufus is not complicated at all to use, just select your USB drive, select the Openwrt firmware you download, leave everything else as is and install. It will come up no issue when you turn on your x86 device with the usb plugged in. 9:20 Getting windows to share internet with OpenWrt x86 initially 1. ssh into the x86 device 2. cd /etc/config 3. vi network *Now navigate to the lan interface and change the static word with dhcp. Remove the lines under dhcp as shown. 15:20 What to do if x86 OpenWrt doesn't have internet working at start vi /etc/config/network *add "option dns 8.8.8.8" under the lan interface as shown "/etc/init.d/network restart" 20:38 Installing the drivers for my particular 10gb Network PCIe card 25:11 Now making a Transparent Bridge 27:28 How to do VLan the easy way 33:00 Warning about OpenWrt quirks with gateway setting 36:28 DHCP for entire VLAN network from firewall 38:08 Firewall zone setup and GUI Access 44:08 Ending Part 1
