Kauai Mountain Tubing Adventure SO MUCH FUN! We Can't Wait to do this Again!

While visiting #kauai there are no shortage of excursions and adventures to embark upon. We did tons of research using kauai.com and booked directly with providers once we found a tour we liked. Adventure number one was the Mountain #tubing Adventure with Kauai Backcountry Adventures. They also offer a zip line tour and we would definitely be interested in trying that on a return visit to the island, it looks amazing on their website. https://kauaibackcountry.com. We arrived at the warehouse at 12:30 for our 1pm tour. We checked in at the front desk and bought tethers for our glasses. They have a store onsite that sells everything you need, so no need to panic if you realize you forgot your sunscreen, bug repellent, sun shirt, or rash guard. There was a safety briefing, gear was handed out, guides were assigned and introduced. There are restrooms, water, picnic tables and changing areas so you can be comfortable while you await your departure. They suggest bringing towels with you, but other than that traveling light. They did take care of all our gear while we were tubing, but space was limited, so pack only the essentials. A towel is a must. You will be at least a little bit wet and the ride back can get chilly. Soon it was time to board the open air safari style vehicle and depart for the #backcountry Once we arrived they gathered our gear and we headed for the canals. The guides were great at helping us get gracefully onto the tubes. Chelsea, our guide, was fun and full of knowledge of the island and its history. Also lovely to hear about the family that owns the company and how they all work together to make the operation function. For the next hour we floated through the sugar cane canals, 80% of the trip was through 5 #underground tunnels! It was SUCH a #uniqueexperience and quite the #adventure The trip culminates in "36 inches of pure terror", a small drop/waterfall where they have stationed a photographer who takes fabulous photos of each adventurer. We were surprised at how exciting the trip was. We were really whipping around corners and spinning through tunnels, pushing and kicking off the rocky walls, we were glad for the standard issue helmets more than once. It was SO MUCH FUN! And at the end of it all we landed at a beautiful green grassy area with a gorgeous view of the water and a little waterfall. It was magical. The team put out lunch; delicious build your own sandwiches, cookies, chips, and water and we watched the chickens and lizards as we dined. Soon it was time to head back to the warehouse. It was a fabulous adventure. We would definitely recommend you try it, we would certainly book this excursion again in the future. 10/10 would recommend! #hawaii #thingstodoinkauai #adventure
