At the 2026 AIMExpo in California,, Verge Motorcycles claims they’re going live with solid-state battery technology, developed with Donut Labs, following announcements that first surfaced around CES. That’s a huge claim. So naturally, I wandered over to Verge Motorcycles, met Rob, hit record, and basically let him cook. In this video, Rob walks us through Verge’s current electric motorcycles, their world record achievement, and then drops what might be one of the boldest announcements of the entire show: 👉 Verge claims they are going live with solid-state battery technology. Yes. That solid-state battery tech. If you’ve followed electric vehicles at all, you already know why that sentence matters. Solid-state batteries are often described as the “holy grail” of EV tech—higher energy density, improved safety, faster charging potential, and less degradation over time. They’re talked about constantly… but very rarely seen in real-world production claims. And yet—here we are. Now, full transparency: I’m not an electric motorcycle expert. I’m not here to crown a winner, call anyone a liar, or declare the internal combustion engine officially dead. I have, however, ridden an Energica at Phil’s shop—and let me tell you, it was unreasonably fast in a way that permanently altered my expectations of electric bikes. So when new tech like this shows up, I pay attention. Rob also makes some very ambitious statements about performance, future development, and what this technology could mean for electric motorcycles as a whole. Will all of it come to fruition? Time will tell. But it’s hard not to get excited when manufacturers are willing to push boundaries instead of just playing it safe. This video is intentionally unfiltered—I let Rob speak in his own words so you can hear the claims, the confidence, and the vision directly from the source. No spin. No hit piece. No hype train conductor’s hat (yet). If you want full specs and official details on Verge motorcycles, check out: 👉 vergemotorcycles.com For more information on the solid-state battery technology discussed in this video, head over to: 👉 Donut Labs at donutlabs.com So consider this video an open conversation starter. Is this the future of electric motorcycles? Is solid-state battery tech finally ready for prime time? Or is this another case of big promises that need serious real-world proof? I genuinely want to hear what you think—especially from riders who are skeptical, curious, or already deep into the EV world. 00:00 Intro Montage 00:42 The Mission 01:06 Meet Rob from Verge 01:24 2024 Verge California TS Pro 01:36 World Record 01:44 Current Weight 01:54 Next Generation Weight 02:14 Current Max Range 02:37 Solid State Battery Announcement 03:00 New Weight With Solid State Batteries 03:23 New Solid State Batteries Long Range Milage! 03:54 How did Solid State Batteries Change the Price? 04:23 Solid State Batteries Duty Cycle? 04:49 Solid State Batteries Temperature Operating Range 05:21 Verge Motorcycles and Donut Labs at CES 2026 05:49 The Future with Solid State Batteries 06:06 How Durable is that Rear Bearing, we have seen this before. 07:15 Price in USD (As of Jan 6th, 2026) 08:10 New Charge Rate for the Long range Solid State Batteries 09:06 Outro Drop your thoughts in the comments.
