Hello everyone, Today, I would like to share with you a video of Saanen. Saanen is the historic heart of Saanenland, is one of the most beautiful villages in the Bernese Oberland. Saanen is one of the Swiss protected places. Saanen is in Canton of Bern, about 85 km from the capital of Switzerland and about 155 km from Geneva. The Saint-Maurice church (Saanen church), now Protestant, has a Romanesque tower and a nave from 1444-1447, restored in 1930 by Karl Indermühle. After the fire, the building was completely renovated in 1940-1943. The drugstore in Saanen village (Haus Drogerie Jaggi), this residential and commercial building was built in 1693 by master blacksmiths Hans and Melchior Strehl. It features numerous carvings and paintings and a multi-line inscription with information about the builders and the master carpenter. The ground floor served as a blacksmith and armourer shop, general store, hat shop and carriage maker. In 1932 a drug store was installed. The magic number square on the bottom of the canopy, which was painted there to protect the house from such dangers as fire and water, is unique in Saanenland.
