In general: the following attacks lose to meaty throw: Lariat, Double Lariat, K/P.spd, green hand. The following attacks win against meaty throw: U1, Super, unthrowable lariat, unthrowable spd You can add unthrowable lariat and unthrowable ex.p-spd to the list as well. Gief's unthrowable specials cancel his pre-jump frames into specials, so it can avoid throws since he's airborne. Notice that they're never reversals. Unthrowable attacks lose to meaty strikes though (since you can't jump out of them). This really isn't anything new.
