When cutting, aim for just above the cap along the shoulder of the cigar's head. Any lower and your cigar may crack or the wrapper could unvravel. As such, aim for just above the cap so you can see a little bit of flag leave below the cigar around its circumference. Nevertheless, don't be too careful and hesitant as slowly cutting your cigar may actually crush it instead. Therefore, be sure to cut with a decisive snip! If the cigar feels dry or you want to err on the side of caution, you can moisten the cigar's head by simply placing it between your lips or in your mouth. However, if you're cutting for someone else, we wouldn't recommend this step. Once you have found the cap, place the cutter or scissors over the desired area and cut with a decisive snip. Although harder to master, we love using cigar scissors over typical cutters as they provide a greater level of control and visibility on where you're cutting your cigar.
