Mountain bike race fans, today, the ESO announced their live UCI Mountain Bike World Series and World Cup broadcasting plans for 2023, and the silver lining is that A LOT, but not all is free to watch on YouTube. This is how to watch: Since this is vital, we’ll start with downhill: FOR FREE, LIVE ON YOUTUBE will be the Junior World Cup Downhill races and the Elite semi-final downhill events. Elite downhill finals will be pay-per-view on GCN+, Eurosport or discovery+. They claim 20 cameras on course, supplemented by 3 drones for all the action. It's pretty rad that Junior and semi-finals are live for free on YouTube! While most of the race schedules aren’t available yet, we did see the Lenzerheide World Cup schedule with Junior downhill racing on Friday and Elite semi-finals and finals on the Saturday of the weekend. This gives us plenty of opportunity to watch free World Cup DH MTB racing. What the specific live coverage looks like, we’ll have to wait and see. We don’t know if every run will be shown or if it will be limited to runs of top qualifiers. Cross country fans aren’t quite as lucky with both Elite short track and XCO races live behind the paywall but U23 XC is free, live on YouTube! Enduro, e-Enduro and XC marathon eventsx will have race highlight videos on YouTube and Instagram, similar to what we saw with the first Enduro World Cup in Maydena Tasmania. As we’ve known for a while, Rob Warner and Eliot Jackson are no longer calling the shots from the booth any longer with reporting duties now handled by Kate Mason, Cedric Gracia, Bart Brentjens, Ric McLaughlin, Josh Carlson and Hayley Edmonds. The first live race of the season is Cross-Country in Nove Mesto, Czech Republic May 11-14 with the first DH race in Lenzerheide, Switzerland, June 8-11. Do you have any thoughts on the proposed broadcast plan? Let us know in the comments, and bring on World Cup DH! #MTB #mountainbike #bike
