HAPPY 120th ANNIVERSARY OF THE NEW YORK CITY SUBWAY!!! 120 years ago, on October 27th, the first subway under Manhattan made its debut from City Hall to Harlem, known as the Interborough Rapid Transit ! To celebrate this, I have made a series of special railfanning videos at various original IRT stations that I have been recreating as best as possible, taking place from 1904 all the way to 2024! The purpose of these virtual railfanning videos is to depict the evolution of the NYC Subway in the course of 120 years: how did the subway stations change, and how did the rolling stock and its technology evolve overtime! Although some of the drastic rolling stock design changes and technology advancements took place on the B Division (BMT & IND), we will only focus on the A Division since it is the first official subway in New York City. Perhaps we will look at the overall evolution across the two divisions at a future occasion. This 120th Anniversary Railfanning series will include the following episodes: • Episode 1: City Hall Loop Station (6 train) • Episode 2: 125th Street - Broadway Station (1 train) • Episode 3: 72nd Street - Broadway (1,2,3 trains) • Episode 4: 14th Street - Union Square (4,5,6 trains) • Episode 5: Times Square - 42nd Street (S train, ft. 1,2,3 trains) The 2nd to 5th episodes will be released through 2025 as I’m still working on these stations and other projects that are higher priority. NOTE : The Original Interborough Fleet (Composite, Hi-Vs & Lo-Vs) are still in their early development stages, expect inaccuracies and flaws. Some details may have been overlooked due to the limited amount of time I had to make these videos. *SMEE : Straight Air Motor Car Electric-Pneumatic Emergency **ERA : Electric Railroaders Association Credits: -R62A train : NDude, with some modifications from my end -R142A train : Apex 1674, with some modifications from my end -Intro music : relaxdaily N°079 =NO MORE OPENBVE NYCT VIDEOS UNTIL MY FIRST UPCOMING PARIS METRO RELEASE= -00:00 : Intro -01:47 : 1904 , First Subway -05:48 : 1910s - 1920s , Arrival of Lo-Vs -08:37 : 1945 , Closure of City Hall Loop -11:30 : 1955 , R-17 SMEEs begin service -13:17 : 1959 - 1960 , R-26 & R-28 begin service -14:53 : 1960s , Arrival of R-29, R-33 & R-36 cars -16:25 : 1964 , Last Lo-V run -19:02 : 1970s -24:00 : Late 1970s , Rampant Graffiti -26:00 : 1980s -28:15 : 1985 , General Overhaul -30:00 : 1986 - 1987 , Arrival of R-62A Cars -31:13 : 1987 , R-33 Fan Trip -32:59 : 1987 , R-17 Farewell Trip -37:00 : 1990s -40:30 : 21st CENTURY -41:10 : 2000 , R-142A New Tech Trains begin service -43:30 : 2001 , Last R-29 Redbird -44:42 : 2004 , Centennial Fan Trip -48:33 : 2010s -51:36 : 2024 #newyorkcity #nycsubway #subway #trains #railfanning #openbve #3dmodeling
